Sleeping Giants

This is just a small portion of the equipment that was parked on-site for the Anthony Henday Expansion project on the North West end of town. They’re making a lot of progress….i’m actually pretty impressed. Infact while i was out driving around this evening around 10 there was still some equipment working….

It’s officially winter! I had to dig out the big snowboarding jacket for my photo adventure tonight. Oh……and I officially hate using a camera with gloves on!

….it’s a train…a very large train. it caught my eye on my way home tonight.  wasn’t really in the mood for shooting today…

It’s getting to be that time of year again…..blah

I’m not really a fan of the holiday…..i have my reasons. it seems like we just got finished with halloween and there are already christmas lights and christmas sales.

Bah Humbug?

Saturday afternoon was spent doing a mini-photo shoot with a couple friends of mine. two best friends…..and two of my favorite people. We had a fun afternoon…..too bad the wind was such a bitch and blew the girls hair all over the place in SO many pictures. grrrr…..

Sorry for the delay…….it’s been a busy weekend

I went adventuring Friday after work. I didn’t quite know what i was going out to shoot…..but i usually find a few things interesting going on. I snagged this shot on the way back to my car after grabbing some other shots. It’s funny…..because i was pretty content with some of my other shots…..but this one had more life and story behind it.

The author of the book i’m reading at the moment says in one of the chapters “don’t pack up until your gone”  …….so true.

It looks easier than it actually is……

…..getting a shot like this i mean. trying to light something that is FULL of contours and high gloss black….pretty much a nightmare when it comes to lighting.

This is 1 of 3 panthers i was given by my grandmother on my moms side before she died. i always loved them when i was a kid….i still really like them a lot. they’re black…..smooth…..sleek….and sexy. what’s not to like?

Old Skool Bokeh!!

I was cleaning out one of my drawers the other day and came across some color negative film i shot YEARS ago. It gave me a cool idea. Once again……not quite what i had in mind……but i like it just the same.

The first bit of snow fell for remembrance day. I think it added a nice touch to this very special day.

The first of many more “snowy” pictures for the next 108 days…..(not that i’m counting down or anything).

-Stabbing Westward

……i was bored so i decided to go adventuring again. And once again…..i was adventuring in dangerous/probablynotsolegal places. haha.

This is one of those pictures that i took just to mess around…..but i ended up liking it more than the “planned” shots i did. The shot itself was murky and terrible in the technical aspect…..but there was something about it that made me want to use it. It was the eyes….

I joined my friend Jessie for a drink Friday evening at Joeys on the west end. I love the patio they have there…..with the fountains and chandeliers. It’s such a cool atmosphere…  Sort of a romance meets industrial sort of feel.  The fountain is a HUGE waste of space…..but i love it.

Considering the fact that it’s dark before i even get off work these days……..i think i’m going to become very good friends with my tripod. My hands are pretty steady…..but not quite steady enough for a 20 second long exposure….
